Fulton County DA Fani Willis acknowledges personal relationship with the special prosecutor in Trump election case

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has confirmed a personal relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, amid attempts by former President Donald Trump and co-defendant Michael Roman to disqualify them from the Georgia election interference case. In a 176-page filing, Willis argued that the relationship does not constitute a conflict of interest and has not affected their ability to oversee the case. The filing also rejected allegations that Willis financially benefited from the investigation and prosecution of the case. Trump has labeled the case a “scam”, while Roman’s attorney has alleged financial impropriety on Willis’s part. A hearing on the allegations is set for February 15.
