Former Massachusetts Officer of the Year charged after allegedly shoving Disney World employees, deputy
Duane Danforth, a police detective from Massachusetts, was arrested at Walt Disney World for allegedly pushing a deputy and threatening to kill staff members while intoxicated and holding a child. The incident happened on January 30 at Epcot, with Danforth facing charges of battery, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer without violence. Danforth, a 14-year veteran of the police force and 2021 Officer of the Year, was off duty at the time. Video footage of the incident was captured by Epcot guests and shared with deputies. The Brookline Police Department has placed Danforth on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
