Follow the money: Silicon Valley’s 2024 primary election
In the upcoming Silicon Valley election, multiple seats are up for vote, including the position to replace retiring Rep. Anna Eshoo. Candidates for her seat include former San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, Santa Clara County District 5 Supervisor Joe Simitian, and others. Silicon Valley voters will also decide on two seats on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and half of the San Jose City Council. The race for California’s 16th congressional district, which Eshoo’s seat falls under, is currently breaking the bank with millions of dollars being spent on TV ads.
