FBI calls bomb threats that led to brief lockdowns and evacuations of some state capitols a hoax

A wave of hoax bomb threats disrupted activities and caused evacuations at state capitols across several U.S. states. The Federal Bureau of investigation (FBI) dismissed the threats, stating they had no information indicating a specific and credible threat. The states affected include Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, and Montana. These disruptions follow a recent string of false reports of shootings at the homes of public officials. The FBI is working with state, local, and federal law enforcement to handle these situations.
