Faulty tolling on SR 125 prompts legal claim against SANDAG

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is facing a legal claim from a driver who alleges he was wrongly billed on the South Bay Expressway tolling system. The claimant, represented by attorney Joshua Gruenberg, asserts that flaws in the ETAN transponder software caused false toll violations and fines. This claim follows reports of similar billing issues experienced by around 45,000 drivers. Should the claim be rejected by SANDAG’s board of directors, a class-action lawsuit may be filed for misappropriation of funds. SANDAG has previously been accused of firing a former finance director for highlighting these software issues.
