Fani Willis, the DA who charged Trump in Georgia, subpoenaed by House GOP

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has subpoenaed District Attorney Fani Willis of Fulton County, Georgia, calling for documents concerning alleged misuse of federal funds by a top campaign aide. The subpoena is part of a wider investigation into whether Willis used federal funds in her over two-year investigation into former President Donald Trump. Willis has previously denied two requests for documents related to her office’s use of federal grant money. Her office has condemned Jordan’s requests, stating that Congress has no constitutional justification to interfere with a state criminal matter. The subpoena follows allegations that Willis’ office retaliated against an employee who tried to stop the misuse of federal funds.
