Fani Willis’ court filing confirms romantic relationship with lawyer on Trump case but denies any conflict

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has acknowledged that she had a romantic relationship with lawyer Nathan Wade, who she appointed to lead the Georgia prosecution of Donald Trump. This comes after allegations of financial conflicts which she and Wade have denied. The allegations were initially brought forward by Michael Roman, a former Republican National Committee staffer and Trump campaign official, who suggested that Willis had a financial gain from the relationship, including paid trips. Willis and Wade counter that the relationship has no bearing on the Trump case and that the charges against Roman should not be dropped. An evidentiary hearing is scheduled for February 15.
