Families of American hostages not invited to White House Hanukkah reception

Families of US citizens believed to be held hostage by Hamas had asked to attend a Hanukkah reception at the White House but did not receive invitations, according to one of the fathers. Ruby Chen, whose son is missing, said several families had reached out to the White House but were not invited. President Joe Biden has worked with Israeli, Qatari, and Egyptian counterparts to secure the release of the remaining hostages and provide humanitarian aid to Gaza. Currently, seven American men and one woman are unaccounted for since the Israel-Hamas conflict began. Despite formal hostage negotiations in Doha, Qatar falling apart, the Biden administration continues to keep in contact with their counterparts about ways to get more hostages released.
