Extreme weather is coming to most of the U.S. Here are 7 key events.

An unusually extreme weather pattern is expected to hit the entire United States in the same week due to the clash of frigid Arctic air and milder air in the mid-latitudes. The weather anomalies include multiple storm systems, possible tornadoes, blizzards, monster waves, heavy snowfall, and hurricane-force winds. The meteorological mayhem is expected to be fueled by a strong El NiƱo climate pattern, resulting in a possible cold air outbreak that could drastically lower temperatures across North America. The various weather extremes to watch out for include an East Coast snowstorm, big waves in California, heavy snowfall in the Sierra Nevada, a Midwest blizzard, severe storms and tornadoes in the South, flooding in the East, and a cold air outbreak in about eight to ten days.
