Ecuador can give its old Soviet equipment to Ukraine. In exchange, the country wants modern weapons from the United States

The United States and Ecuador are considering a deal where Ecuador would transfer old Soviet-era equipment to the US for forwarding to Ukraine, in exchange for modern American weapons worth $200 million. Ecuador’s contribution would include six military helicopters, long-range salvo missile systems, and air defense systems, all dating from the 1990s. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova objected to the deal, asserting that Quito had agreed not to transfer equipment to a third party without Russia’s consent. However, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa insisted that the move doesn’t violate international law and shouldn’t affect relations with Russia.
