Dramatic video shows man rescue dog from coyote attack
A South Carolina man, Timothy Snipe, saved his dog, Roxie, from a coyote attack, which was caught on his home security camera. Snipe, who was bitten in the process, managed to overpower the coyote and place it in a nearby dumpster until help arrived. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control collected the animal to test it for rabies. Following the incident, Snipe received nine rabies shots and plans to outfit Roxie with a coyote-proof vest for future outdoor outings. Wildlife officials advise anyone encountering a coyote to make themselves seem large and loud, and to avoid feeding the animal.
