A UK court has dismissed a damage claim filed by former U.S. president Donald Trump, stating the claim fell outside a six-year period of limitations. Trump’s attorney had argued that the ex-president had suffered personal and reputational damage due to a document released by BuzzFeed News in 2017. In response, a Trump campaign spokesman criticized Christopher Steele, author of the controversial dossier, for the defamatory allegations. However, research firm Orbis expressed delight over the decision, stating that the case should not have been brought forward in the first place.
