DNC slams New Hampshire democrats over ‘detrimental’ primary

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has criticized the New Hampshire Democratic Party for planning to hold its primary on January 23, 2024, asserting that this event cannot be used as the first determining stage of the state’s delegate selection process. The DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee’s co-chairs have addressed this issue in a letter to the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s chair, Raymond Buckley. This move defied an attempt by Democrats to have South Carolina go first in its primary calendar, part of an effort to increase racial diversity in the nominating process. New Hampshire and Iowa have historically been the first states in the Democrats’ nominating process.
