Dispute between customer, Pita Stop owner on Birmingham’s Southside leads to deadly gunfire

A customer-service dispute at the Pita Stop on Birmingham’s Southside ended in fatal gunfire on Saturday. The incident occurred after a customer became disgruntled with the food quality and got into a fight with the restaurant owner, which led to the owner shooting the customer. The customer was taken to UAB Hospital where he was declared dead. The restaurant owner has been detained. This marks the 130th homicide in Birmingham this year, and the second fatal shooting in the city within 12 hours.
