Disease X: The world is preparing for a new deadly pandemic
The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of a potential new pandemic caused by an unidentified “disease X”, that could be 20 times more deadly than the coronavirus. This topic will be discussed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, scheduled from January 15 to 19, particularly on January 17. International experts, including WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, will deliver a report on potential risks and countermeasures against such a disease. The term “disease X” was coined by the WHO in February 2018 to describe a theoretical unknown pathogen that could cause an epidemic or pandemic, warranting the immediate development of treatment methods or drugs.
