David Leitch in Talks to Direct New Movie – The Hollywood Reporter

Filmmaker David Leitch is reportedly in talks to direct the next installment in the Jurassic World franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The upcoming dinosaur-themed film, written by David Koepp who penned Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park, is set for release by Universal Pictures on July 2, 2025. Spielberg will executive produce the new movie through his company Amblin Entertainment, alongside producers Frank Marshall, Patrick Crowley, and Kelly McCormick of 87North. The film is expected to launch a “new Jurassic era,” with no involvement from the characters played by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard from Colin Trevorrow’s 2015 Jurassic World. Leitch is known for his action films with witty dialogue such as Bullet Train, Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw, Deadpool 2, and Atomic Blonde.
