Court filing reveals Rep. Scott Perry’s vast web of contacts in bid to reverse 2020 election
The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals has mistakenly released court filings showing extensive communication between conservative congressional leader Scott Perry and key figures in Trump’s circle, including the then-acting attorney general Jeffrey Clark, who was supporting Trump’s false claims of voter fraud. Perry was vocally backing Clark’s impending appointment as the attorney general, a move that was eventually scrapped due to a rebellion within the DOJ and White House. The disclosed documents reveal Perry’s active role in challenging Joe Biden’s victory, strategizing with several key players including Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel, Trump campaign lawyers, Pennsylvania state legislators, and anti-vaccine advocate Simone Gold. Perry also had contentious exchanges with Clark over the DOJ’s defense of Vice President Mike Pence against a lawsuit filed by another House member, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas).
