Cold rain in Upstate, snow in mountains

A cold front is expected to bring snow to higher-elevation mountains in North Carolina and scattered rain to the Upstate. The weather system is predicted to bring extremely cold temperatures that will fall below freezing area-wide by Tuesday night, and continue dropping to the teens by Wednesday morning. The weather forecast suggests Wednesday and Thursday morning temperatures will fall into the teens and 20s with windchill making it feel like single digits. This will be the coldest temperatures so far this winter. The forecast also indicates a chance of snow mainly in the higher elevations of the mountains and light rain in the Upstate.
