CNN Polls: Trump leads Biden in Michigan and Georgia as broad majorities hold negative views of the current president

New CNN polls conducted by SSRS suggest that former President Donald Trump has a lead over President Joe Biden in battleground states Michigan and Georgia. Majority voters in these states reportedly hold negative views of Biden’s job performance, policy positions, and acuity. In Georgia, voters prefer Trump (49%) over Biden (44%) in a potential presidential face-off. In Michigan, Trump has 50% support to Biden’s 40%, with 10% saying they wouldn’t support either candidate. The polls also indicate possible difficulties for both candidates in the upcoming campaign, with Trump needing to maintain support among politically disengaged voters and Biden needing to regain the support of his former backers.
