Chicago Bears partnered with sneaker museum for My cause, My Cleats
Sneakerhead University, founded by Shay Belvin and Mykol Branch in fall 2022, has become an interactive platform for sharing and preserving sneaker history. The founders, alumni of the historically Black university North Carolina Central, initially intended to create a sneaker museum that would tell the Black story of different topics. The museum now includes multiple exhibits and offers customization classes. In 2023, the museum invited over 100 members of the Chicago Bears organization to customize Nike Air Force Ones as part of the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” initiative. This NFL campaign allows players to design and wear custom cleats in support of a charitable organization of their choice.
