Cecily Strong Mysteriously Pulled From ‘SNL’ Elise Stefanik Sketch

Saturday Night Live (SNL) alum Cecily Strong was replaced by cast member Chloe Troast in a cold-open sketch satirizing university presidents’ testimonies on antisemitic incidents. The sketch, which received tepid response from the audience, involved a satirical take on the increasing antisemitic incidents at US colleges amid the Israel-Hamas conflict. Strong, who left SNL last year, was initially slated to play Rep. Elise Stefanik in the sketch during dress rehearsals. Reports suggest Strong pulled out at the last minute due to discomfort with the sketch, although her representatives have not officially responded. The sketch also discussed the resignation of University of Pennsylvania academic head Liz Magill.
