Boy, 13, charged after allegedly planning mass shooting in synagogue in Ohio : NPR
A 13-year-old boy from Canton, Ohio has been charged for allegedly planning a mass shooting at a local Jewish synagogue, Temple Israel. The teenager, whose name is withheld due to his age, allegedly posted a detailed plan of the attack on live streaming platform Discord, which included maps of the synagogue. Following an alert from an FBI agent, the Stark County Sheriff’s Office arrested the boy, who admitted to being part of antisemitic and political groups on Discord. This incident comes amidst a 35% rise in antisemitic incidents in the U.S between 2021 and 2022.
