Boeing 737 MAX again under scrutiny
Alaska Airlines has temporarily grounded its fleet of 65 Boeing 737 MAX-9 aircraft due to concerns over possible additional maintenance work. The decision came after consulting with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and followed an incident where the crew reported a “pressurization issue”. United Airlines also suspended service for inspections required by the FAA, causing around 60 flight cancellations. Concerns about Boeing’s 737 MAX fleet have been raised, particularly on whether the 737 MAX is safe, given its history of scrutiny after two crashes killed 346 people. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the matter.
