Blount County, Tennessee shooting: Manhunt underway for suspect after deputy dead and another injured

A manhunt is ongoing in East Tennessee for Kenneth Dehart, a suspect in the shooting death of a sheriff’s deputy and injury of another during a traffic stop. Dehart, a convicted felon, is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and possession of a firearm. The deceased officer was named as Deputy Greg McCowan, while injured Deputy Shelby Eggers is now out of hospital. Authorities believe Dehart to be on foot, armed, and dangerous. He was last seen in the county’s Wildwood area.
