Blizzard warning issued for Iowa with snow, gusty winds, cold expected

Iowa is expecting a significant winter storm, with a blizzard warning in effect from 10 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. The storm will bring high winds and heavy snowfall, reducing visibility and making travel difficult. The National Weather Service (NWS) recommends avoiding travel if possible during a blizzard warning. Schools, including Des Moines Public Schools, have canceled classes in anticipation of the weather. The storm will also bring freezing temperatures, with highs in the teens to mid-20s and dropping into single digits by Saturday.
