Blast reported in North Arlington after flare gun firing

An Arlington house exploded on Monday night following an investigation of discharged flares from a flare gun. There were no fatalities or serious injuries to police officers reported, however, the condition of the individual inside the house remains unknown. According to Arlington County Police spokeswoman Ashley Savage, the flare gun was fired around 30 to 40 times from the house into the neighborhood. An attempt to execute a search warrant regarding the flare gun discharge was met with resistance from the occupant of the house. As police approached, the house exploded, with the flames and smoke visible throughout Arlington and even in D.C. neighborhoods far from the blast site.
