Blackpink headline Coachella in Korean hanboks

K-Pop girl group Blackpink made history as the first Asian act to headline Coachella, performing to a crowd of over 125,000 people. The group paid homage to their Korean heritage by taking the stage in traditional hanbok dresses, which were quickly shrugged off to reveal custom Dolce and Gabbana outfits. The hanboks were custom-made by South Korean pattern design brand OUWR and dressmakers Kumdanje, and featured traditional Korean motifs. The group’s performance also included elements of Korean architecture, further emphasizing their cultural roots. In recent years, Blackpink has risen to global fame, earning numerous Guinness World Records including the most-streamed female group on Spotify.
