Bitter dangerous cold, accumulating snow likely

A Storm 5 Alert has been issued for both the cold and the snow, lasting from Sunday night through Wednesday morning. A Winter Storm Warning will also go into effect at 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening and last until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, while a Winter Weather Advisory in Southern Kentucky will go into effect Sunday and last until early Monday or Tuesday morning depending on the specific county. The forecast models are varied, predicting dry air at the surface and steady snow, heavy at times, with some areas potentially seeing up to 8 inches of accumulation.
