Bill Ackman outlines MIT plagiarism probe, defends wife from allegations

Billionaire Bill Ackman, founder and CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) to conduct a plagiarism review of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s faculty, administration, and board. Ackman suggests that this type of review should also be performed at other prestigious universities such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Penn, and Dartmouth. He believes that the use of AI to detect plagiarism will require academic institutions to revise their plagiarism standards. Furthermore, he discusses different types of plagiarism, ranging from unintentional mistakes to malicious theft of ideas. This announcement comes amidst plagiarism accusations against Ackman’s wife, Neri Oxman, a former MIT professor.
