Biden focuses on Trump in speech near Valley Forge marking 3 years since Jan. 6 Capitol riot

In his first campaign speech of the election year, President Biden criticized former President Donald Trump, warning about the dangers to democracy that he allegedly represents. Speaking near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Biden suggested that Trump’s campaign is centered on himself rather than the nation’s future, and accused him of trying to “steal history the same way he tried to steal the election.” The speech comes three years after Trump supporters rioted at the U.S. Capitol. Biden’s campaign plans to focus on the argument that Trump is a threat to democracy. Meanwhile, charges against Trump for alleged attempts to alter the 2020 election’s outcome will go to trial in March.
