Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ is No. 1 at the box office with $21 million debut

Beyoncé’s concert film, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” topped the North American box office with $21 million in ticket sales. The film debuted in more than 2,500 theaters in the U.S. and Canada, and 94 international territories, grossing $6.4 million from over 2,600 international theaters. Despite not matching the debut of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” the film has had a successful start and received positive reviews from critics and audiences. Both Beyoncé and Taylor Swift have chosen AMC Theatres to distribute their films. It’s also notable that this is the first film to open over $20 million in the post-Thanksgiving, early December weekend in 20 years.
