Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews helps save a woman’s life on a Southwest Airlines flight

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews assisted a woman having a medical emergency on a Southwest Airlines flight from Baltimore to Phoenix, by suggesting low blood sugar as a potential cause and offering his diabetic test kit. Andrews, diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was nine, last year attended Camp Charm City at Johns Hopkins, spending time with children with the same diagnosis to show them they wouldn’t be limited by it. Flight passenger Andrew Springs (@NaturalSprings on X, formerly Twitter) detailed the incident and praised Andrews’ intervention. The flight crew gave the woman orange juice and she was able to walk with assistance off the plane upon landing.
