At least 34 people have died in a landslide in Colombia

In Colombia, a landslide triggered by heavy rains resulted in at least 34 fatalities and dozens of injuries. The incident occurred in the northwest part of the country, specifically on the road linking the cities of Quibdo and Medellin in the Pacific province of Choco. The mudslide reportedly swallowed multiple vehicles on the road. Rescuers, including dog handlers, were dispatched from across the country to search for injured individuals. Choco’s governor, Nubia Cordoba Kuri, described the event as a “very sad weekend for Choco”.
