Asa Hutchinson Drops Out of 2024 Presidential Race

Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has suspended his bid for the Republican nomination for President. Announcing his candidacy in April, Mr. Hutchinson ran on a platform that included calls to cut the federal workforce and heighten border security. Despite his extensive political experience, his campaign struggled to gain traction, and he finished with less than 1% support in the Iowa caucuses. His campaign raised only $1.2 million through September and spent most of it. Hutchinson’s positions were more moderate compared to other Republicans, including maintaining trade relations with China and not supporting a full border wall.
