Arrest made in deadly San Dimas follow-home robbery

An arrest has been made in a fatal follow-home robbery in a residential San Dimas neighborhood. Nicholas Simbolon, 42, was found dead with a gunshot wound to his chest. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department used surveillance video to track down 33-year-old suspect, Jerrid Joseph Powell. A gun matching the description of the murder weapon was found at the time of the arrest. Simbolon was a tenured L.A. County employee and a project manager in the IT department.
