Arizona is sending the National Guard to the border : NPR

Arizona’s Governor, Katie Hobbs, has ordered the state’s National Guard to assist federal officials in managing an influx of migrants at the Mexico border. This move is in response to what Hobbs describes as the federal government’s refusal to secure the border and maintain safety. The number of troops and deployment time have not been specified. A week ago, Hobbs asked President Biden’s administration to mobilize 243 Arizona National Guard troops already in the Border Patrol’s Tucson sector to help reopen the indefinite closed border crossing. However, the Biden administration has not responded to her request for border security spending reimbursement yet.
