Appeals court hears Mark Meadows’ push to move his Georgia racketeering case to federal court

They claim the alleged actions fall within his duties as Trump’s White House chief of staff, pushing for a move to a potentially more favorable federal court. If the court rules in his favor, Meadows may claim immunity from prosecution under the Constitution’s supremacy clause. Meadows was among 19 individuals charged in a 41-count indictment related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Several co-defendants in the Fulton County racketeering case have already pleaded guilty and cooperated with the prosecutors.
