Amid Calls for Gay’s Resignation, Harvard Corporation Convenes for Scheduled Meeting | News

Pressure is mounting for Harvard University’s President, Claudine Gay, to resign following her testimony before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Her failure to directly answer a question about whether calls for the genocide of Jews violate Harvard’s policies on bullying and harassment has sparked backlash and calls for her resignation, including from over 70 members of Congress. The situation was discussed during a regularly scheduled meeting of Harvard’s governing bodies—the Harvard Corporation and the Board of Overseers. However, the boards have yet to make a public statement regarding Gay’s future at Harvard, and senior fellow Penny S. Pritzker refused to comment on whether she would ask Gay to step down.
