Alaska Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing After Losing Window
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered US airlines to temporarily halt use of around 171 Boeing 737 Max 9 planes for inspection, following an incident where a part of the aircraft’s body was lost during an Alaska Airlines flight. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have the most Max 9 planes in service, with 79 and 65 respectively. The inspections are expected to take between four to eight hours per plane. This is the latest issue for Boeing’s Max aircraft, which were grounded globally after two crashes in 2018 and 2019. The planes were cleared to return to service in 2020 after modifications were made.
