Alaska Airlines’ Boeing jetliner was restricted over warning light concerns
A Boeing jetliner experienced an inflight blowout over Oregon causing the FAA to ground 171 Max 9s for inspection. The aircraft’s plug covering an unused exit door flew off during the flight, leaving a hole in the plane’s side. This incident led to chaos in the aircraft and the cockpit. The FAA ordered Alaska Airlines and United Airlines, the only US airlines that operate the Max 9, to ground all their 737 Max 9 jetliners until further inspection. The incident comes as a shock as the Boeing 737 Max 9 is a new aircraft model, with the specific plane involved having been certified only two months ago.
