Ashley McMakin, who enjoys cooking for friends and family, turned her passion into a career when she started catering in 2005. She used her mother’s and grandmother’s recipes to create homestyle food in her small kitchen in Homewood. Although Ashley McMakin initially had no plans of making cooking her career, she and her husband, who have degrees in marketing and accounting, respectively, have made it work.
