Air Force disciplines 15 people in Discord leak investigation

The US Air Force disciplined 15 members of the Air National Guard due to a lack of supervision and complacency that enabled a 21-year-old airman to leak hundreds of classified documents online. The Air Force blamed the superiors of Airman 1st Class Jack D. Teixeira for failing to restrict his access to classified systems and failing to alert authorities. The investigation found that the lack of action allowed Teixeira to share classified documents on the gaming chat platform Discord, resulting in one of the Pentagon’s most embarrassing leaks in recent years. The 15 disciplined personnel range in rank from staff sergeant to colonel. The investigation also found several indirect contributing factors including a lack of supervision on overnight shift operations.
