Air Force crew ejects safely as B-1 bomber crashed in South Dakota

A B-1 Lancer from Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota crashed during a training mission but all four crew members ejected safely. The incident occurred while the bomber was attempting to land. The B-1 is a long-range, multi-mission, and supersonic conventional bomber that has served the Air Force since the 1980s. Fewer than 60 of the originally built 100 remain in service at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas and Ellsworth Air Force Base. The cause of the crash will be investigated by a board of officers.
