Acme Oyster House closes in Montrose

Acme Oyster House, a restaurant chain, has closed its Houston location due to difficulties arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurant, which had been established in a renovated movie theater in Montrose in April 2021, experienced staffing shortages, problems with sourcing products, and soaring food costs. Despite optimism and investment in the area, Acme Oyster House was unable to sustain operations and shut its doors. The restaurant chain, however, maintains five other locations in Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida.
