A Year of GM Electric Vehicle Excitement
CEO of General Motors (GM), Mary Barra, has declared 2024 the “Year of Excitement” as the company accelerates its Electric Vehicle (EV) portfolio. GM is under a strategic transformation to become a tech-focused company, recruiting Silicon Valley executives including Alan Wexler, Senior Vice President of Innovation and Growth; Mike Abbott, Executive Vice President of Software; and Lin-Hua Wu, Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer. The company aims to combine manufacturing with software, following the concept of Marc Andreessen’s statement, “Software is eating the world.” The shift is part of a broader trend of the Titanium Economy, merging manufacturing with Silicon Valley.
