The court is considering whether she can legally have the procedure under the state’s abortion ban. Cox’s lawsuit is the first to ask permission for an abortion since Roe v. Wade was overturned last year. A similar challenge has since been filed by a pregnant Kentucky woman. The Center for Reproductive Rights, representing Cox, dubbed the delay as “despicable political games”.
