5 dead after stabbing at burning home in Queens, suspect shot and killed by police
A violent incident took place in Far Rockaway, Queens, during which a man, identified as 38-year-old Courtney Gordon from the Bronx, stabbed his family to death and attacked two responding police officers. The massacre claimed the lives of four people, including two children, and left one 61-year-old woman in critical condition. The police officers engaged Gordon in conversation before he lashed out with a knife, injuring both officers. One officer shot and killed Gordon in response. Prior to the officers’ arrival, Gordon allegedly set a couch by the front door on fire. Gordon had a previous arrest record for a domestic incident in the Bronx.
