5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes near Oklahoma City

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit parts of Oklahoma late Friday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The epicenter of the earthquake was located northwest of Prague in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, approximately 50 miles east of Oklahoma City. There have been no reports of damage or injuries thus far, but officials are currently surveying the situation. The USGS notes that earthquakes east of the Rocky Mountains can typically be felt over a much broader region than those of similar magnitude in the west.
