3 dead, 1 injured in explosion, massive fire at Hillsboro auto shop
An explosion and subsequent fire at Jimbo’s Auto Repair in Hillsboro resulted in three fatalities and one injury. The fire began around 4 p.m., according to Paint Creek Joint EMS & Fire District Chief David Manning, but the cause of the explosion is yet to be confirmed. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed, but it is believed they were employees at the shop. One person was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Eight fire departments responded to the fire, which did not cause damage to nearby structures, and both the Fire Marshal and Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident.
