A 24-year-old from Cupertino, California, Atahan Kiliccote, was one of four people killed in a hot air balloon crash in Arizona. The incident happened in a desert area about 60 miles south of Phoenix, with 13 people in the balloon gondola when it set off. This group consisted of eight skydivers, one operator, and four passengers. The crash occurred after the skydivers had exited the balloon, with the police stating that the skydiving activities had been conducted successfully with no issues with the balloon apparent at that time. Three of the victims died at a local hospital while one was declared dead at the crash scene. Another person was critically injured in the crash.
